My Day at the Museum
At the start of our visit to the Museum we went to see the glass house and we were told how old it was. We began by visiting the Natural History Room. We saw some animals that had died. We saw birds, bats, poisonous frogs and a big walrus. The skin of the Walrus was real so we had to be careful with it.
After that, we went to look at the musical instruments. There were instruments from lots of different places in the world. It was exciting. There were instruments that you blow, beat and strum.
Then we went into the next room, it was about the rainforest. It was fantastic. We saw a snake which looked so real Derek jumped up into the air, but it wasn’t. Then we saw a tiger. Again, it looked real but it was dead.
After that, we had an artefacts handling session. We saw African clothes and we got to dress up in them. Then we looked at toys made in Africa. It was children who made the toys. They were made from tins and wire and you pushed them along the ground to make them move. We also played different drums and percussion instruments that had been made in different places in Africa.
We really enjoyed our day and wish we could go there again.
