Celebrate trees at Kew Gardens in London this summer, with the launch of its new green visitor attraction.

Treetop Walkway Arrives in London

Visit Kew Gardens and learn about trees this summer. From their roots below the earth, up to the biodiversity at the top of the tree canopy, there's plenty to discover.

The new Rhizotron and Xsatra Treetop Walkway at Kew Gardens gives you the chance to explore trees like never before.

Xstrata Treetop Walkway at Kew Gardens

Stroll among the treetops on the Xstrata Walkway at Kew Gardens. Designed by the people behind the London Eye (Marks Barfield Architects), the new treetop walkway is environmentally sympathetic.

Follow the 200-metre walkway through a canopy of limes, broad-leaved oaks and sweet chestnut trees, and discover the fungi, birds, lichens and insects that live up in the tops of the trees.

If that isn't impressive enough, you can now get a new perspective on Kew Gardens too, by looking down on the 300 beautiful acres of gardens and wildlife.

Rizotron at London's Kew Gardens

The Rizotron (which takes its name from the Greek word "rhiza", meaning root) is where you can explore the fascinating world of tree roots.

Enter the Rhizotron through a crack in the ground to delve into the world of tree roots and see how they interact with soil micro-organisms.
