See the Future at London’s Science Museum

Explore the 7 exhibition zones: Briefing, Drinking, Eating, Enjoying, Moving, Building and Future City and find out how people might live in the future.

What I love is the different aspects for all ages. Younger children will love the fish chasing display... For slightly older kids, there's an area where you can create your perfect car. It's a great family day out.

Ben Fogle and The Science of Survival: Your Planet Needs You!

TV Presenter Ben Fogle is supporting the launch of Science of Survival. We talked to Ben to find out a bit more:

Q: Tell us about the exhibition and why you're supporting it

Ben Fogle: The exhibition is trying to give people the opportunity to create a lifestyle for 2050. People will be able to create their own cars, food, energy, water. At the end, you'll log all these things using something similar to an Oyster card. It's sort of like Sim City.

It's a great family day out and something that will appeal to all age groups.

Q: What’s the best part of the exhibition?

Ben Fogle: What I love is the different aspects for all ages. Younger children will love the fish chasing display. There's a goldfish bowl projected onto the floor. As you step on the water, it creates a bubbly splash and a water noise, and about 25 goldfish run away from you.

For slightly older kids, there's an area where you can create your perfect car. You type in what fuel it'll use, the type of material and how many people it'll carry. At the end, you get to see what it'd look like.
