London Brass Rubbing Centre (The Crypt)
Unique opportunity for all the family to make pictures, with this simple technique, of Britain's royalty, medieval and Tudor characters and unusual Celtic designs. The crypt workshop supplies specialist materials, a choice of 90 plaques and friendly instruction. The display of studio rubbings is a free and interesting exhibition while costs of making a brass rubbing range from £2.90 to £15.00. Gift shop specialises in historic merchandise, museum stationery, Celtic jewellery, model knights, miniature brasses and gifts with an authentic feel of the past.
Please note that as part of the Renewal of St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Crypt including the Café in the Crypt, Shop in the Crypt, Gallery and London Brass Rubbing Centre will be closed for a 7 month period from Monday 12 February – Sunday 30 September. The Crypt will re-open on Monday 1 October 2007.
