Kensington Gardens

Kensington Gardens were originally formed in 1689 with land taken from Hyde Park when William and Mary moved into Nottingham House, now Kensington Palace. The Albert Memorial and Italian Fountain Gardens were added in Victorian times. Today, tree-lined avenues give distant views of the palace, there is a Flower Walk, roller-blading paths and boating on the Round Pond every Sunday morning. The gardens are home to The Serpentine Gallery and the start of the Diana, Princess of Wales memorial walk.
