Animal Magic in London

London is a place where sharks and stingrays lurk in deep waters; where lions, tigers, pythons and penguins are waiting to be fed; and where horses are waiting to be ridden. You'll be surprised to find out just how wild London can be…

Visit the World Famous London Zoo

The best way to get to London Zoo is on the London Waterbus which leaves from Camden Lock.

Once you arrive, take a trip "Into Africa" and see the zebras, warthogs and giraffes. Don't worry about straining your neck trying to look at these taller than tall creatures! Into Africa has a viewing platform so you can really eyeball all the animals. Hardly anyone needs a viewing platform for the fabulous penguins, pygmy hippos and Komodo dragons though.

The very brave will enjoy the reptile house and insect displays.

Feeding Time at The Rainforest Cafe

You might have felt as if you were in the wilderness at London Zoo, but the truth is, it's only about 20 minutes from the West End and an all-animated, all-howling tropical forest.

The Rainforest Café is the closest thing to a tropical climate to be found in the W1 area, and definitely the only place that allows the whole family to sit on the bottom halves of wild animals and chomp on Mojo Bones, Congo Pasta and a Leaping Lizard Mezze!

Under the Sea at the London Aquarium

Next, head to the totally fantastic London Aquarium. Press your nose up against a tank and stare into the eyes of real life, carnivorous-sharks! The sharks share this amazing space with over 350 species and 2m litres of water.

For those who want to be a little more hands-on, head to the stingray pool where you can actually touch these amazing creatures in complete safety, but don't be tempted to do the same in the piranha pool – gobble, gobble!

Horse Riding and Inner City London Farms

Try a spot of horse riding in Hyde Park or Richmond Park or visit city farms like Mudchute Farm, Kentish Town Farm, Spitalfields Farm and Vauxhall Farm, to name but a few.

See out our Out and About page for more information.

The Lion King in London

When the sun sets, nothing has more animal magic than the spectacular stage version of Disney's The Lion King, which also has matinees on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
